A lifelong friendship

​

Ricardo Herrera and Adriana Bermúdez cultivated a friendship since they were 13 years old. For 38 years, they shared a bond so deep that they became family. Their children grew up like siblings, while they walked through life supporting each other, fighting together, and forging their own path without leaving the other behind.

When Adriana was diagnosed with cancer, Ricardo took her to the United States so she could receive better medical treatment. It was nine years of struggle, during which their friendship remained a refuge of strength, companionship, and hope, until Adriana's passing in October 2024.

The origin of Diva
 

It all began the second time the doctors told Adriana she only had two or three months to live. In the midst of that pain, Ricardo approached her and asked:

 

“Adriana, La Diva, what can I do to get you out of that bed?”
 

She replied:

 

“We always had fun, we always enjoyed ourselves. Make a nightclub, a restaurant that bears my name, where people can go to enjoy themselves just as we did.”
 

A dream come true
 

From that wish, Diva Sport Bar was born in Plaza Los Portales, Calle 50, Panama, in June 2023: a place made out of love, to give love and receive love. Adriana's dream took shape as a place where other people could share the joy that had always united those two friends.
 

Before passing, Adriana had the joy of being present at the inauguration. Her presence turned that moment into an invaluable memory and an essential part of Diva's history.
 

From that friendship, Diva was born in Panama: from the affection of two friends who chose to take care of and accompany each other throughout a lifetime. Every space that bears her name honors the memory of Adriana, “La Diva,” and keeps alive that bond that not even her absence could break.
 

The Great Diva

Adriana Bermúdez, the indomitable, “La Diva,” was an extraordinary woman who forged an indelible legacy despite the challenges of her illness. Her tireless fighting spirit propelled her toward success and made her a beacon of inspiration for those who shared her path.
 

Her hard work made her a fundamental pillar for her family, and with determination, she ensured that her legacy would transcend, preparing her loved ones for the day of her absence. Even in the hospital, she radiated motivation and was a ray of hope for those who were also fighting against the disease.
 

We will always remember her as the Great Diva: a brave, successful, and exemplary woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Her story lives on in her family, in that lifelong friendship, and in every space that honors her name today.
